INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the
October 2002 edition of the Accident Reconstruction Newsletter.
We did it, thanks to all the members and guests out there using
the ARC Network, we broke our record of hits! Last month we received
a whopping 650,000 hits to the site. The previous record was
583,00 hits. The ARC Network has been getting a lot of attention
lately, due to our crash conference and our involvement with the
accident reconstruction/investigation community. We also have been
receiving quite a few new individual memberships as well as police
department memberships.
This newsletter
arrives with some new additions to the ARC Network. We have contracted
with a few new people to help further develop the ARC Network and
help out with some administrative work. This extra help allows us
to build the ARC Network at a faster pace and provide more information
to our members and guests.
You will notice
a few new areas added to the ARC Network this month. One being a
database of tire data and the other being a database of defects
and recalls. These are great tools to help with your cases. We also
added a new feature to the newsletter this month "Photos of
the Month". If you have any pictures you would like to share
with the ARC Network and your fellow Reconstructionists and Investigators,
please email them to the ARC Network (arcnetwork@earthlink.net).
Due to the amount
of police departments who have already joined the ARC Network (we
have about 10 more in the purchase order phase), we spent some time
reworking the Police Department Directory.
You can now click on the state and see a list of all the departments
who have chosen to become a member of the ARC Network (State, County
and Local departments). This directory will grow as more departments
sign up for this great membership package.
We have also
begun planning for the next ARC-CSI Crash Conference. We are hoping
to host it in Las Vegas, Nevada. Please read the article ARC-CSI's
Next Crash Conference for all the information we have to date.
We are also asking for topic suggestions and speaker presentations.
The ARC Network
is able to operate based on membership dues and advertisers. Please
help support The ARC Network by becoming a member. As a member
you have full access to the Member's Only section that hosts a vehicle
specs database, crush stiffness database, crash test clips, technical
papers and more. As a member you will also be placed in the Expert
